Raised Doughnuts & Cakes is a refreshingly contemporary take on a donut shop and bakery. Located in at the corner of 24th & Union in the historic Africatown neighborhood of Seattle, La Union Studio was tasked with how the space can seamlessly integrate into an intersection that is bustling with other fellow small businesses. Our Studio explored how ‘transparency’ could be a guiding principal to facilitate interior connections between patron & baker, and on the exterior between the space and the larger community. A refined ensemble of geometric angles, textures and light breathe life into a restrained and balanced sensory experience.
