For over a decade, Kaffa Coffee & Wine Bar has been a beloved gathering place in South Seattle—celebrated for its traditional Ethiopian dishes, expertly roasted coffee, and hand-picked wine list. Founded by Milen and Bisrat Gebreselassie, Kaffa has always been more than a café. It’s a cultural cornerstone where food, heritage, and hospitality come together to create a space that feels like home.

After navigating the challenges of the pandemic, Kaffa embraced a new chapter. With support from the City of Seattle’s Office of Economic Development, La Union Studio partnered with the owners to thoughtfully reimagine their space—enhancing both functionality and comfort while preserving its welcoming soul.
