Set within a quiet West Seattle neighborhood, the North Admiral DADU is a detached accessory dwelling unit designed as a warm, light-filled retreat where every square foot is used with intention. Situated on a parcel with both street frontage and alley access, the property offered an opportunity to rethink how a single lot could work harder. As part of a relocation to Seattle, the clients chose to renovate the existing single-family home while adding a new detached unit at the rear, resulting in a more functional and flexible property that adds housing and long-term value. For La Union Studio, the project reflects how thoughtful infill design can unlock underutilized land, support rental income, multigenerational living, or guest accommodation, and strengthen the character of an established neighborhood.
