September was a whirlwind of activity here at La Union Studio! We've been busy bringing exciting projects to life across Seattle. It's incredibly rewarding to see our passion for design translate into spaces that foster community, enhance lives, and reflect the unique visions of our clients. Whether we're crafting a welcoming cafe, a thoughtfully designed home, or a vibrant commercial space, we're driven by our mission to create places that inspire and connect people.
We're incredibly grateful for the continued support of our amazing clients, partners, and community. This month's recap is filled with exciting project updates, partner highlights, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what we've been up to!
Warmly,

Exciting news! Our valued partner, BF Foods’ and Heigh Connect, has been selected to bring not one, but two new dining and retail concepts– Neighborhood Bubble Tea & Coffee and Poke to the Max –to the expanded C Concourse at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport!
This is a major milestone for our small and mighty studio, especially considering the rigorous selection process involved. As the press release highlighted, BF Foods’ and Heigh Connects excelled in key areas like concept development, customer experience, and unit design – and we're proud to have played a part in their success.
Stay tuned for updates on this incredible project as we progress through the design phases. We're confident these spaces will be a highlight of the new C Concourse, and we can't wait to share the final results with you!

Grab a glimpse of the latest progress on the Palomo Residence project, a charming ground up abode designed for a young entrepreneur and their family in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. In partnership with Coastal Construction, we've already reached a major milestone: the original heirloom structure has been demolished, paving the way for a sleek new design with Pacific Northwest warmth. Think expansive windows, open-concept living, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
As you can see from the photos above, the transformation is well underway. Anticipated completion is late 2025 - stay tuned for more updates as we bring this exciting vision to life!

Remember Social Tea, the vibrant boba cafe in Capitol Hill we helped design? They've been serving up delicious drinks and community spirit for seven months now, and they just got a fresh new look! Their eye-catching exterior signage is finally in place, making it even easier to spot this community hub.
This incredible project, led by Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho, is more than just a place to grab a delicious drink. It's a community hub designed to spark conversations and inspire civic engagement.
La Union Studio is proud to have partnered with Social Tea on this impactful project, providing design consulting, permit assistance, and interior design services. Be sure to stop by and check it out next time you're in the neighborhood!

Construction is underway on the Wedgwood ADU, a project designed with accessibility and multi-generational living in mind. This cozy addition an existing single family home boasts universal, barrier-free design features.
La Union Studio is proud to be part of this project, which prioritizes future-proofing and creating a home that can be enjoyed for years to come. Anticipated completion is set for 2025 - stay tuned for updates!

Capitol Hill just got a whole lot more vibrant with the grand opening of Bonito Café y Mercadito! This exciting new cafe and marketplace is now serving up delicious coffee and supporting local BIPOC businesses.

We kicked off September with a fantastic event at our HQ to celebrate the launch of La Union Studio's residential services! Lively conversations, delicious refreshments from Hood Famous Cafe & Bar and Boon Boona Cafe, and a first look at our residential design expertise filled the evening. A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us and to our incredible vendors: Bahtoh, B.Y. Visuals, and Christian Hernandez. We missed those who couldn't make it, but hope to see you at future events! Stay tuned for exciting updates.
I recommend La Union Studio all the time. They are easy to work with, it felt like a collaboration the entire time, they listen to your wants and desires and really do a great job of incorporating them as well as their own styles to make it incredible.

Sergio and Sonia are a perfect balance of accessible and professional, of community-based and institutionally-connected. They can help bridge the often totally disparate worlds of small business and commercial development. Their design solutions to complicated problems are intuitive and straightforward.

La Union Studio has helped us connect with people from the community that we were not in connection with before this project, which allowed more people to know Chebogz's story and legacy. They also have your back when issues rise and they do it in a way that doesn't scare the clients. They care!

With Sergio and Sonia, you get two people who are insanely intelligent, incredibly creative, but also really patient. I really appreciate their ability to stick to a timeline, to meet deadlines, to continue to push and to reach a vision.
