Raised Doughnuts & Cakes offers a refreshingly contemporary take on a donut shop and bakery. Located at the corner of 24th & Union in the historic Africatown neighborhood of Seattle, the business is owned by Mi Kim and serves a delightful array of delicious donuts.
La Union Studio was tasked with integrating the space seamlessly into an intersection bustling with fellow small businesses. Our studio explored how 'transparency' could serve as a guiding principle to facilitate interior connections between patrons and bakers, and externally between the space and the larger community. A refined ensemble of geometric angles, textures, and light breathes life into a restrained and balanced sensory experience.
Raised Doughnuts & Cakes was also featured in Seattle Met’s 'Best Doughnuts in Seattle' article earlier this year. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, be sure to do so!

At the beginning of this month, La Union Studio, along with representatives from the Office of Economic Development and Grow America, was invited by ARC Seattle to discuss the new Business Community Ownership (BCO) Fund. This funding is the nation's first property ownership program, which helps small businesses combat displacement.

Earlier this month, La Union Studio collaborated with the UpNUp Podcast’s Robel Andmichael and Ariv Adiaman to host the "World is Yours" workshop at La Union’s studio space. “The World is Yours" workshop is centered on bringing together professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs from various professional disciplines to swap ideas, tackle challenges, and build winning strategies. Together we discussed the topic of finding joy in serving your community while also enjoying serving yourself as a point of departure for the discussion. We’re extremely grateful for the opportunity to connect, share insights, and empower each other through this collaboration.
Stay tuned for more events we plan on hosting and launching later this year!

La Union Studio has helped us connect with people from the community that we were not in connection with before this project, which allowed more people to know Chebogz's story and legacy. They also have your back when issues rise and they do it in a way that doesn't scare the clients. They care!
