Go to Feature“Laro tayo” — let’s play.
At this new indoor play space in Kent, those words are both a greeting and a design philosophy.
Founded by Joysha Fajardo, a Filipino-American mother of two, Laro Tayo brings imagination and belonging together in a bright, community-driven environment. The space glows with color and care from murals by Filipina artist Shayla Hufana to custom wooden playhouses and sensory-friendly corners that invite exploration and rest.
Rooted in the Filipino value of bayanihan (community care), Laro Tayo celebrates culture as lived experience, featuring local authors, Filipino treats, and pop-ups with small businesses like Aufe Coffee.
For La Union Studio, spaces like Laro Tayo reflect how thoughtful design can hold culture, play, and connection all at once. Its intentional layout, inclusive access, and joyful textures mirror our own belief that design is an act of care. one that builds community from the inside out.
In this Kent neighborhood, “let’s play” becomes an invitation to belong, reminding us that the best spaces don’t just look beautiful, they bring people together.
