Sergio Max Legon-Talamoni

Director of Design + Culture

Sergio's work and outreach focuses on creating culturally immersive spaces and places that embody the heart and soul of our community, preserve our cultural ecosystem, and celebrate identity. He identifies as first-generation Samoan-Cuban-American and grew up in South Seattle where his exposure to a beautiful diversity of cultures helped craft his global-human perspective of the world.

Sergio believes that La Union Studio’s most successful projects are ones where the community is represented, their values are reflected, and where the spaces and places we deliver are a product of a shared, collective vision that we collaborate with our partners on throughout the design process. He also instills these values as the appointed the Governing Council President of the Cultural Space Agency, a newly launched PDA focused on addressing the growing commercial & cultural arts affordability crisis in Seattle through cultural arts real estate development. Sergio's role as a guest lecturer and adjunct faculty in Bellevue College’s Interior Design program cultivates the next generation of designers where he has led interior design studios engaged in exploring how design, and design students can play a role in the creation, activation and preservation of cultural spaces in the greater Seattle region.
